Feb 13-15, 2009 CLE and Ski at Whitefish Mountain, MT

The DLA's 2009 Mid-Winter CLE and Ski will be he held at Whitefish Mountain (formerly Big Mountain) in Whitefish, Montana ( www.skiwhitefish.com ) on Presidents Day Weekend. While it is a small resort, there are those who love it.

And with good reason -- with 3000 acres of skiing, an average of 300 inches of snowfall a year, no lift lines, proximity to Glacier National Park and its incomparable cross-country skiing, and accessibility (only 25 minutes from Glacier National Airport ( www.iflyglacier.com ) served by direct flights from Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Denver and Seattle), Whitefish Mountain is hard to beat (unless what you want is glitz, not skiing -- reportedly the highest grossing store in town is the hardware store) .

Further details on the program, schedule, and discount lift tickets (although its undiscounted prices are already about 1/2 of some other resorts) will be forthcoming. However, room reservations can, and should, be made as soon as possible by contacting the intimate Kandahar Lodge ( www.kandaharlodge.com ) at 1-800-862-6094. Make sure you mention you are with the DLA, because there are no other available rooms. And although the official event only runs the evening of February 13th through the evening of the 15th, you might as well extend your stay by at least one night as every fourth night is free!
