Justice Nadeau to speak 9/11/04

The DLA is honored to have Senior Associate Justice Joseph P. Nadeau of the New Hampshire Supreme Court as its speaker at its Gala Banquet September 11, 2004 during its Annual Meeting, in Hanover, NH.

Justice Nadeau, a New Hampshire native, had been a member of the Superior Court since 1981 and Chief Justice since 1992. Justice Nadeau was Chief Justice of the Superior Court in March 2000 when he was nominated to the New Hampshire Supreme Court by Gov. Jeanne Shaheen.

Justice Nadeau served as vice-chair of the National Conference of State Trial Judges, and in the judicial division of the American Bar Association, Justice Nadeau has been chair of the CEELI Committee and he is chair of the International Relations Committee of the national trial judges conference. Justice Nadeau has traveled extensively in the former Soviet Republics, the Czech Republic, Poland and Algeria on judicial education training programs often focusing on the role of a trial judge in an adversarial system.

Justice Nadeau is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Boston University Law School.

Following an officers meeting from 5:30 to 6:30 PM on Friday, September 10, the DLA 2004 Annual Meeting kicks off with a cocktails in the 1965 Gallery of the Rauner Museum (formerly Webster Hall) from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

Saturday, September 11, will open with a breakfast meeting in the Wheelock Room of the Hanover Inn from 8 to 9 AM. September 11 will continue with a discussion of the Patriot Act, led by DLA Member and Indiana Attorney David Williams Russell '67 (9:30 to 11:45 AM in Rockefeller). The business portion of the Annual Meeting and lunch at Rockefeller follows. A farewell Cocktail Party (6 PM) and the Gala Banquet (until 9 PM) will be in the Friends of Rowing Boathouse .

Register now online at DLA.org. Meeting and meals charge is $195.00 per attendee or spouse/guest. Children are free! Last minute registration and materials will be available in the Hayward Lounge of the Hanover Inn from 3 to 5:30 PM Friday, September 10. Advance lodging reservations are strongly encouraged. A block of rooms at the Hanover Inn was reserved for the DLA but may be all filled by this time.
