November 9-11 : Join Dartmouth's Celebration of 35 Years of Coeducation

The Dartmouth Lawyers Association invites all of our members to join us in Hanover, during the weekend of November 9th, as Dartmouth celebrates 35 Years of Coeducation.
-
DLA will be co-hosting a Saturday morning breakfast with Dartmouth Athletics and Office of Alumni Relations to explore the history and current issues surrounding Title IX, the groundbreaking 1972 non-discrimination legislation, also celebrating its 35th anniversary year.
-
The breakfast's keynote address will be given by Janet P. Judge, President of Sports Law Associates LLC. Ms. Judge works with colleges and universities nationwide, acting as general counsel as well as conducting audits and feasibility studies, to improve intercollegiate athletic programs across the country. She has authored many articles on collegiate compliance, and is co-author of the newly released NCAA Manual on Title IX. Ms. Judge, along with Dr. Christine Grant, writes the NCAA News bi-weekly column "Gender Equity Q & As," and is on the editorial board of College Athletics and the Law. Ms. Judge currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Committee to Visit the Department of Athletics at Harvard College and is a member of Harvard's NCAA Division I
Athletics Certification Steering Committee. (You can access a full bio via: www.sportslaw.com/Attorneybio.asp?AttorneyID=3.)

We hope to see you at this exciting morning gathering of alumnae/i, faculty, students, and administrators. The breakfast and the weekend as a whole promise to embody the energy, intellectual curiosity, professionalism, and sense of community that we all value so much about Dartmouth.
