Van De Kamp: Next President, Calif State Bar
The National Law Journal reports that John Van De Kamp, Dartmouth '56, Stanford '59, was elected as the next President of the California state bar. He was an original "Founding Member" of the Dartmouth Lawyers Association and has consistently maintained his membership since then. He is a former Attorney General of California, and he is a retired partner of Dewey Ballantine in Los Angeles. The National Law Journal reports that he has "vowed to devote his one year term to, among other things, encouraging pro bono service and finding ways to protect the public from abusive lawyers."
Thanks to John Mathias '69 of Jenner and Block, Chicago, for this report.
